Who sanctifiedour hearts with the Love and Affection towards His Beloved Rasool SallallahoAlaihi wa Sallam. Who blessed us with the most precious treasure of Iman(Faith). Countless Salutations, Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon the Creamof the Creation; Mercy for all Worlds; Seal of the Prophets Sayyiduna waMawlana Muhammadur Rasoolullah Sallallaho Alaihi wa Sallam, His BlessedParents, His entire Family, His Progeny, His Companions and all those whoFollow Him!! </p><p>Aameen.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta'ala says in the Holy Qur'an:</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>قللاأسألكمعليهأجراإلاالمودةفيالقربى</span></p><p>say (O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be uponhim) “I do not ask any fee from you upon this, except the love between closeones” [Surah al-Shoara, Verse 23]</p><p>Sa'eed bin Mansur in his Sunan narrates from Sa'eed binJubayr Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu, He said:</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>قربىرسولاللهصلىاللهتعالىٰعليهوسلم</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In this verse close ones refers to the relatives of theProphet SallAllaho Alaihi wa ala Aalihi wa Sahbihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam. [Jami'al-Bayan, Vol. 11, Page 144 | Zakhair al-'Uqba, Page 33, Durr al-Manthur, Vol.5, Page 701 | Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 3, Page 288]</p><p>This reveals that love for the Muslim relatives of thebeloved Prophet through either blood or marriage is obligatory (Fard) upon eachand every Muslim, neglect of which will prompt questioning by Allah SubHanuhuwa Ta'ala.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Following are the few out of many sacred and blessed Ahadithcontaining the virtues of the Ahl al-Bait al-Kiraam Alaihim ar-Ridwan andthereby reveal the rank of the beloved Prophet’s Ahl al-Bait and relatives.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Virtues of the Ahl al-Bait al-Kiraam</p><p><span lang="EN-US">—</span> may Allah be well pleased withthem all —</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>♥</span><span> Imam Ahmad; Tirmidhi who denoted itsahih; Nisa'i and Haakim narrated it from Muttalib bin Rabee’a that the belovedProphet SallAllaho Alaihi wa ala Aalihi wa Sahbihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam said toSayyiduna Abbas Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>واللهلايدخلقلبامرئمسلمإيمان،حتىيحبكمللهولقرابتي</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span lang="EN-US">‘</span>By Allah, Imaan (faith) will notenter the heart of a Muslim until he loves you for Allah and for myrelationship.’ [Musnad Ahmad, Vol. 1, Page 342, Hadith 1780 | Sunan Tirmidhi,Vol. 5, Page 610, Hadith 3758 | Sunan Nisa'i, Vol. 5, Page 51, Hadith 8175 |Mustadrak al-Hakim, Vol. 4, Page 85, Hadith 6960]</p><p>The Love of the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa ala Aalihi waSahbihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam and his family is proven from this hadith becausewithout it no Imaan is acceptable. Loving them because of Allah means that thelove be based on faith and which one must have for another Muslim because ofhis faith whilst love because of their relationship with the Prophet SallAllahoAlaihi wa ala Aalihi wa Sahbihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam means that the love bebased on their relationship with the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa ala Aalihi waSahbihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam. This reveals that one should have double love forthe Muslim relatives of the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa ala Aalihi wa Sahbihiwa Baaraka wa Sallam; firsly because of their Imaan and secondly because oftheir relationship with the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa ala Aalihi wa Sahbihiwa Baaraka wa Sallam.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>♥</span><span> Muslim, Tirmidhi and Nisai narrated fromZaid bin Arqam </span>that the beloved Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa ala Aalihiwa Sahbihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam said</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>أذكركماللهفياهلبيتي</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span lang="EN-US">‘</span>I remind you of Allah (to fear Him)about my Ahl al-Bait.’ [Sahih Muslim, Vol. 4, Page 36, Hadith 1837 | MusnadAhmad, Vol. 5, Page 492, Hadith 18780 | Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah, Vol. 4, Page 62,Hadith 2357]</p><p><span>♥</span><span> Tirmidhi, denoting it Hasan, and Tabaraninarrated from Ibn Abbas the the beloved Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa ala Aalihiwa Sahbihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam said</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>أحبوااللهلميغذوكمبهمننعمهوأحبونيلحباللهوأحبواأهلبيتيلحبي</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span lang="EN-US">‘</span>Love Allah because of what He gaveyou from His blessings; Love me because of the Love of Allah and Love my Ahlal-Bait because of my Love.’ [Sunan Tirmidhi, Vol. 5, Page 622, Hadith 3789 |Mustadrak al-Hakim, Vol. 3, Page 162, Hadith 4716 | Tabarani in Al-Kabir, Vol.3, Page 46, Hadith 2638 | Bayhaqi in Shau'ab al-Iman, Vol. 2, Page 13, Hadith1378]</p><p>The reason and causes of love have been described in thishadith.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Love of Allah should be because He is our Creator andNourisher; Love for the Prophet should be because he is Allah’s Prophet andBeloved and Love for the Prophet’s family should be because it is his family.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>♥</span><span> Tabarani and Haakim narrated from IbnAbbaas that the beloved Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa ala Aalihi wa Sahbihi waBaaraka wa Sallam said</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>ياابنعبدالمطلب</span>:<span>انيسالتاللهلكمتلاثاًانيثبتقلوبكموانيعلمجاهلكمويهديضالكموسالتهانيجعلكمجودآءنجدآءرحمآءفلوانرجلاًصفنبينالركنوالمقامفصلىوصامثمماتوهومبغضلاهلبيتمحمددخلالنار</span></p><p><span lang="EN-US">‘</span>O Children of Abdul Muttalib, Iasked Allah three things for you; that He keeps your hearts steadfast (uponIslam); that He teaches the Deen to your ignorant and illiterate and guidesyour astray, and that He make you kind, generous and affectionate to oneanother. So if a man prays, standing between the Rukn and Maqaam, and fasts butdies with malice for the Household of Muhammad he has entered Hell.’ [Tabaraniin Al-Kabir, Vol. 11, Page 142, Hadith 11412 | Mustadrak al-Hakim, Vol. 3, Page162, Hadith 4712]</p><p><span>♥</span><span> Tirmidhi, denoting it Hassan, and Haakimnarrated from Zaid bin Arqam that the beloved Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa alaAalihi wa Sahbihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam said</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>إنيتاركفيكمماإنتمسكتمبهلنتضلوبعدي</span>:<span>كتاباللهوعترتيأهلبيتيولنيفترقاحتىيرداعليالحوض،فأنظرواكيفتخلفونيفيهما</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span lang="EN-US">‘</span>Verily I am leaving in you that towhich if you firmly hold onto you will not go astray after me; The Book ofAllah and my family the Ahl al-Bait. These two will not be separated until theymeet me at the Fountain (of Kawthar), so look (take care) at how you deal withthem after me.’ [Sunan Tirmidhi, Vol. 5, Page 626, Hadith 3788 | Mustadrakal-Hakim, Vol. 3, Page 160, Hadith 4711]</p><p>Imam Torpashti Alaihir raHmah states that family here refersto the Prophet’s Pure wives and very closest relatives. Holding onto them meansloving and respecting them, acting upon their narrated ahadith and trusting andrelying upon their statements. This is also the station of the Prophet’scompanions, it is important to love them, act upon their narrated ahadith andtrust and rely upon their statements. The Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihiwa Sallam said ‘My companions are like the stars, whichever of them you followyou will find guidance’ (Mirqaat).</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>♥</span><span> Tabarani narrates from Ibn Abbas that thebeloved Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa ala Aalihi wa Sahbihi wa Baaraka wa Sallamsaid</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>بغضبنيهاشموالانصاركفروبغضالعربنفاق</span></p><p><span lang="EN-US">‘</span>Malice for the Bani Haashim(migrants) and Ansaar is kufr (heresy) whilst malice for the Arabs ishypocrisy.’ [Tabarani in Al-Kabir, Vol. 11, Page 118, Hadith 11312]</p><p><span>♥</span><span> Ibn Adee in Al-Kaleel narrates from AbuSa'eed Khudri Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu that the beloved Prophet SallAllahoAlaihi wa ala Aalihi wa Sahbihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam said</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>منابغضنااهلالبيتفهومنافق</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span lang="EN-US">‘</span>He is a hypocrite who has malice forour Ahl al-Bait.’ [Jawahir al-Aqdain, Vol. 2, Page 25]</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Imam Samhoodi narrates this in Jawaahir ul Aqdain andrelated it to the musnad of Imam Delmi and reported that Sayyiduna Jaabirstated ‘We would recognise the hypocrites by their malice for Sayyiduna Ali’.This has been narrated by Imam Tirmidhi and Ahmad with his sanad.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>♥</span><span> Tabarani narrates from Imam Hasan bin Alithat he said to Muaawiyya bin Khudayj:</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>يامعاويةبنخديجاياكوبغضنافانرسولاللهصلىاللهعليهوسلمقال</span>:<span>لايبغضنااحدولايحسدنااحدالازيليومالقيامةعنالحوضبسياطمننار</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span lang="EN-US">‘</span>O Muaawiya Ibn Khudayj guardyourself from having malice for us because undoubtedly the beloved ProphetSallAllaho Alaihi wa Sallam said ‘No one has malice for us and no one isenvious of us except on the day of Qiyaamah he will be kept away from thefountain by whips of fire.’ [Tabarani in Al-Kabir, Vol. 3, Page 81, Hadith 2726and Al-Awsat, Vol 3. Page 203, Hadith 4426]</p><p><span>♥</span><span> Ibn Adee and Bayhaqi, in Shau'ab ulImaan, narrated from Sayyiduna Ali the beloved Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa alaAalihi wa Sahbihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam said</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>منلميعرفحقعترتيوالانصارفهولاحدىثلاثامامنافقوامالدينهوامالغيرطهرويعنيحملتهامهعلىغيرطهر</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span lang="EN-US">‘</span>Whosoever did not recognise theright of my family and Ansaar is one of three; either a hypocrite, bornillegitimate or conceived by his mother whilst she was impure.’ [Ibn Adee inAl-Kaamil, Vol. 3, Page 106 | Shau'ab al-Iman, Vol. 2, Page 232, Hadith 1614, Daylamiin Al-Firdaws, Vol. 3, Page 662, Hadith 5955]</p><p><span>♥</span><span> Tabarani in Awsat narrates from Hassanbin Ali that the beloved Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa ala Aalihi wa Sahbihi waBaaraka wa Sallam said</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>الزموامودتناأهلالبيتفانهمنلقياللهوهويودنادخلالجنةبشفاعتناوالذينفسىبيدهلاينفععبداًعملعملهالابمعرفةحقنا</span></p><p><span lang="EN-US">‘</span>Make the love of our Ahl al-Baitcompulsory for whoever meets Allah having love for us shall enter paradise withour intercession and By He in whose Hand is my life no deed will benefit aservant except by recognizing our right.’ [Tabarani in Al-Awsat, Vol. 3, Page122, Hadith 2251 | Al-Shifa, Vol. 2, Page 48]</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>♥</span><span> Ibn Shayba and Musadad in theirrespective Musnads; Hakeem Tirmidhi in ‘Nawaadir Al Usool’, Abu Ya’laa andTabarani narrated from Salama bin Aku’ tha</span>t the beloved ProphetSallAllaho Alaihi wa ala Aalihi wa Sahbihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam said</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>الندمأمانلأهلالسماءوأهلبيتيأمانلأمتي</span></p><p><span lang="EN-US">‘</span>The stars are the refuge for thepeople of the Heavans and my Ahl al-Bait is the refuge for my Ummah.’ [IbnHajar in Matalib al-Aaliya, Vol. 4, Page 262, Hadith 3972 | Tabarani inAl-Kabir, Vol. 7, Page 22, Hadith 6260 | Kanz al-Ummal, Vol. 12, Page 101]</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>♥</span><span> Tabarani narrates from Abu Dhar, whosaid: I heard the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa ala Aalihi wa Sahbihi wa Baarakawa Sall</span>am say:</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>مثلأهلبيتيفيكمكمثلسفينةنوحفيقومنوحمنركبهانجاومنتخلفعنهاهلكومثلبابحطةفيبنياسرائيل</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span lang="EN-US">‘</span>The example of my Ahl al-Baitwithin you is the example of the Ark of Nuh within the nation of Nuh; whoeverboarded it was saved and whoever stayed behind was destroyed. It is also theexample of the ‘Hitha’ of the Bani Isra'eel.’ [Tabarani in Al-Awsat, Vol. 4,Page 283, Hadith 3506 | Mustadrak al-Hakim, Vol. 2, Page 427, Hadith 3312]</p><p>The Hitha is mentioned in Surah Baqarah. The Bani Israilwere ordered to enter through the door of Bait al-Muqaddas proclaiming Hitha,meaning Oh Allah, forgive our sins. But instead of reciting Hitha some of themproclaimed ‘Hinta’ and so Allah destroyed those who proclaimed that. Therelevance of this example is that the one who loves the Ahl al-Bait is (savedlike those) proclaiming Hitha whilst those who do not will be destroyed like thoseproclaiming ‘Hinta’.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>♥</span><span> Tabarani narrates from Ibn Abbas that thebeloved Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa ala Aalihi wa Sahbihi wa Baaraka wa Sallams</span>aid</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>لاتزولقدماعبدحتىيسألعنأربععنعمرهفيمأفناهوعنجسدهفيمأبلاهوعنمالهفيمأنفقهومنابناكتسبهوعنمحبتناأهلالبيت</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span lang="EN-US">‘</span>On the day of Judgement the feet ofthe servant will not move from the grave until he is asked about four matters;His age, the matters in which he spent it; His body, how he expended it’sstrength; His wealth, where he spent and how he earned it and about the love ofthe Ahl al-Bait.’ [Tabarani in Al-Kabir, Vol. 11, Page 83, Hadith 11177 |Haytami in Majma' al-Zawa'id, Vol. 10, Page 346]</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>♥</span><span> Ibn Najjaa</span>r in his ‘Taarikh’narrates from Hasan bin Ali that the beloved Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa alaAalihi wa Sahbihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam said</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>لكلشيءأساسوأساسالإسلامحبأصحابرسولاللهوحبأهلبيته</span></p><p><span lang="EN-US">‘</span>Everything has a base and the baseof Islam is the love of the Prophet’s companions and love of his Ahl al-Bait.’[Jami' al-Ahadith, Vol. 3, Page 457, Hadith 9778 | Kanz al-Ummal, Vol. 11, Page2319, Hadith 32523 | Al-Musannaf]</p><p><span>♥</span><span> Tabarani in Al-Awsat narra</span>tes fromSayyiduna Jaabir who heard Sayyiduna Umar saying at the time of his marriage toSayyiduna Ali’s daughter (Sayyida Umm Kulthoom):</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>إلاتهنئونيسمعترسولاللهصلىاللهعليوسلميقول</span>:<span>ينقطعيومالقيامةكلسببونسبإلاسببيونسبي</span></p><p><span lang="EN-US">‘</span>Do you not congratulate me! I heardthe Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa ala Aalihi wa Sahbihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam say‘On the Day of Qiyaamah all Sabab (relations through marriage) and Nasab(relations by blood) will break except my Sabab and Nasab.’ [Tabarani inAl-Awsat, Vol. 6, Page 282, Hadith 5602 | Bayhaqi in Sunan al-Kubra, Vol. 7,Page 107, Hadith 13393]</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>♥</span><span> Daylami narrates from Sayyiduna Ali RadiAllahu Ta'ala Anhu that the beloved Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa ala Aalihi waSahbihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam said</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>أدبواأولادكمعلىثلاثخصالحبنبيكموحبأهلبيتهوعلىقراءةالقرآنفانحملةالقرآنفيظلاللهيوملاظلإلاظلهمعأنبيائهوأصفيائه</span></p><p><span lang="EN-US">‘</span>Teach your children three things;Love of your Prophet; Love of his Ahl al-Bait and the recitation of the Quran.Verily the learned of the Quran will be with the Prophets and the pious(Awliyaa) in the shade of Allah’s mercy on the day (of Qiyaamah) when therewill be no shade but His.’ [Kanz al-Ummal, Vol. 16, Page 456, Hadith 45409 |Kash al-Khifa, Vol. 11, Page 74, Hadith 34157]</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The learned of the Quran are those of Correct Aqeedah(belief) who sought the knowledge of the Quran and taught it to others and alsoincludes all those who helped them in this.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>♥</span><span> Daylami narrates from Sayyiduna Ali RadiAllahu Ta'ala Anhu that the beloved Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa ala Aalihi waS</span>ahbihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam said</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>أثبتكمعلىالصراطأشدكمحباًلأهلبيتيوأصحابي</span></p><p><span lang="EN-US">‘</span>The most steadfast of you on theBridge (on the day of Qiyaamah) will be the one with the most love for my Ahlal-Bait and my companions.’ [Ibn Adee in Al-Kaamil, Vol. 2, Page 2304 | Kanzal-Ummal, Vol. 12, Page 96, Hadith 34157]</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>This hadith proves that the most steadfast on the bridgewill be the one who combines in his heart the love of the Ahl al-Bait and thelove of the Prophet’s Noble Companions. Praise be to Allah, this characteristicbelongs to the Ahl as-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>♥</span><span> Daylmi narrates from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'eedthat the beloved Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa ala Aalihi wa Sahbihi wa Baarakawa Sallam said</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span>اشتدغضباللهعلىمنآذانيفيعترتي</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span lang="EN-US">‘</span>Allah’s most severe wrath(punishment) will be upon the one who pains me regarding my family.’ [Kanzal-Ummal, Vol. 12, Page 93, Hadith 34143]</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Based on this hadith the corrupt Yazeed and his aids,Ubaidullah bin Ziyaad, Shimar etc, who martyred and tormented Sayyiduna ImamHussayn and the leading lights of his family, are worthy of Allah’s wrath’. The whole monthof Ramadan is a period of spiritual training wherein believers devote much oftheir time to&nbsp;<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sawm" title="Sawm"><span>fasting</span></a>,&nbsp;<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_Prayer" title="IslamicPrayer"><span>praying</span></a>, reciting the Quran, remembering&nbsp;<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God_in_Islam" title="GodinIslam"><span>God</span></a>, and giving&nbsp;<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sadaqah" title="Sadaqah"><span>charity</span></a>. However because of the revealed importance of thisnight, Muslims strive [give more effort] harder in the last ten days of Ramadansince the Laylat al-Qadr could be one of the odd-numbered days in these lastten (the first, third, fifth, seventh or ninth). Normally, some Muslims fromeach community perform&nbsp;<b><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I%CA%BFtik%C4%81f" title="Iʿtikāf"><span>iʿtikāf</span></a></b>&nbsp;in the&nbsp;<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mosque" title="Mosque"><span>mosque</span></a>:they remain in the mosque for the last ten days of the month for prayers andrecitation.</span></p><p><span>&nbsp;</span></p><p><b><span>Laylat al-Qadr (Arabic: لیلة القدر‎) (alsoknown as Shab-e-Qadr),</span></b><span>variously rendered in English as the <b>Nightof Destiny, Night of Power, Night of Value, the Night of Decree or Night ofMeasures</b>, is the anniversary of two very important dates in Islam thatoccurred in the month of Ramadan. It is the anniversary of the night Muslimsbelieve the first verses of the Quran were revealed to the Islamic prophetMuhammad.</span></p><p><span>Laylat al-Qadr is believed to be the night when the Quran was firstrevealed. All Muslims believe that revelation of the Quran occurred in twophases, with the first phase being the revelation in its entirety on Laylatal-Qadr to the angel Gabriel (Jibrail in Arabic) in the lowest heaven, and thenthe subsequent verse-by-verse revelation to Muhammad by Gabriel. The revelationstarted in 610 CE at the <b>Hira cave onMount Nur in Mecca</b>. The first Surah that was revealed was <b>Surah Al-Alaq</b> which is also commonly referredto as <b>Surah Al-Iqra</b>. Muslims shouldworship as much as they can on this night. This night is also believed to bethe night when Allah decides the destiny of everyone.</span></p><p><span>Muslims often pray extra prayers on this day, particularly the nightprayer. They are awake, pray, and hope God will give them anything they maydesire on this night. Mostly, they perform <b>tilawat</b>(reading the Holy Quran).</span></p><p><span>Those who can afford to devote their time in the remembrance of God stayin the mosque for the final ten days of Ramadan. This worship is called <b>Iʿtikāf</b> (retreat). They observe a fastduring the day and occupy themselves with the remembrance of God, performingvoluntary prayers and studying the Quran, day and night, apart from theobligatory prayers which they perform with the congregation. Food and othernecessities of life are provided for them during their stay in the mosque.Devoting time to remember God, Muslims also hope to receive divine favors andblessings connected with Lailat ul-Qadr.</span></p><p><span>Laylat al-Qadr is to be found in the last five odd nights of the 3rd tendays of Ramadan. There is no history in the Quran as to when the specific dateis. Therefore in the Sunni communities of all the Islamic countries, the Laylatal-Qadar is found to be on the last nights of Ramadan. Mostly it is on one ofthe odd nights, i.e. the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th or 29th night. Many traditionsinsist particularly on the night before the 27 of Ramadan. Muslim.</span></p><p><span><br></span></p><p><span>Allah<span>&nbsp; </span>SWT sent His final messenger, Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu alaihiwasallam , as a source of knowledge for the entire ummah.</span></p><p><span><br></span></p><p><span>Prophet Sallallaahu alaihiwasallam was the fountain of Quran, Hadith, Tafsir, Rhetoric, Fiqh, and so on.</span></p><p><span><br></span></p><p><span>After the Prophet Sallallaahu alaihiwasallam, the scholars of this ummah carried on and propagated each of these branches of knowledge. Because no one person can attain the perfection of the Prophet Sallallaahu alaihiwasallam , who single handedly assumed all of these roles, various branches of &nbsp;the Islamic sciences developed. </span></p><p><span><br></span></p><p>For example, <b>Imam Abu Hanifah (Rah)</b> preserved the science of Fiqh and after him thousands of scholars continued in his footsteps. Hence these scholars preserved the Fiqh of the Prophet Sallallaahu alaihiwasallam. </p><p><span><br></span></p><p>Similarly Imam <b>Bukhari (Rah) </b>and the other famous scholars of Hadith, preserved the words of the Prophet Sallallaahualaihiwasallam. </p><p><span><br></span></p><p><span>The scholars of Tajweed preserved the recitation of the Prophet Sallallaahu alaihiwasallam . And, the scholars of Arabic grammar preserved the language of the Prophet Sallallaahu alaihiwasallam.</span></p><p><span><br></span></p><p>The unified knowledge &nbsp;of all the goodness of the above can be transmitted only by a <b>Holy Sufi Saint &nbsp;&nbsp;</b>from &nbsp;the <span><b>Ahlul Baith (</b>the descendents) of Prophet Sallallahu alaihiwassallam and&nbsp;</span><span><span>Chosen<span>&nbsp;</span></span>&nbsp;by the&nbsp;</span>Almighty Allah Subhanawathala and Graciously&nbsp;Granted the Status of <b>Quthubuzzamaan</b>.</p><p><span><br></span></p><p>At present <b>His Holiness Quthubuzzaman, Shamshulwujud, Shiekhul Kaamil, Jamaliya Assyed Khaleel Awn al Hassaniyul Husseiniyul Hashimiyee <span><b><span>&nbsp;</span>Moulana</b></span>Nayagam Avargal </b>is the only such <b>Great Islamic Saint Sufi,&nbsp;</b>who can guide us all to the&nbsp;righteous&nbsp;path in this world and the hereafter<b>.</b></p><p><b><br></b></p><p><b>Those who got hold of his hand will come out successful in this world and the hereafter for sure with the Almighty Allah's Grace.</b></p><p></p></div></div>

style="text-align:justify;"><b><u><span>Introduction</span></u></b><span></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span>Wilayat (Sainthood) is a very special rank and position of acceptance given by Allah to His beloved servants. A Wali is a pious muslim who attains this position of wilayat. Wilayat is deduced from the root word “Wila”, which means closeness. Some attain this position due to their sincere devotion and worship. Some attain this position from birth, but ultimately, it depends&nbsp;</span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span><br></span></p><p><div style="text-align:justify;"><b>There are two types of Wilayat:</b></div><span><div style="text-align:justify;"><br></div><div style="text-align:justify;">1)Wilayat-e-Amma (general closeness to Allah) – This is the closeness of Allah to every believer, as Allah declares in the Holy Quran: “We are closer to him, than his own jugular vein.” (Surah Al-Kaaf, Verse 16)</div></span></p><p><div style="text-align:justify;"><br></div><span><div style="text-align:justify;">2)Wilayat-e-Khaas (special closeness to Allah) – This closeness is exclusive to the Awliya. This is a speciality of those who have traveled on the path of Tasawwuf, and attained nearness to Allah. This is declared in a Hadith-e-Quddsi, where Allah says to the Holy Prophet&nbsp;<i>SalallahuAlaihi Wasallam</i>,“Among the things that bring My servant close to Me, the ones I love best,are the things that I have made fard (compulsory). When My servant does nafil ibaadat (optional prayer), he gets very close to Me. So much so, that I love him very much. When I love Him, I become his hearing ear, seeing eye, holding hand, and walking foot. I give him whatever he wishes. When he invokes Me for help, I protect him.”Allah’s closeness is not like material closeness that can be understood by reason, or perceived through the sense organs. It can only be comprehended through the knowledge of Ma’rifa (gnosis) bestowed by Allah upon the Awliya. From the Awliya of all the ummahs (of the previous Prophets), the greatest Awliya are from the ummah of Sayidina Rasoolallah (<i>SalallahuAlaihi Wasallam</i>).There have been Awliya Allah in every era and there will always be Awliya Allah in every era. However, their recognition may be difficult.&nbsp;<b>The Quran divides those that are favoured by Allah into 4 groups:</b></div></span><span><div style="text-align:justify;"><br></div><div style="text-align:justify;">a)&nbsp;<b>The Prophets</b>&nbsp;– This phenomenon ended afterthe appearance of Rasoolallah (<i>Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam</i>).</div></span></p><p><div style="text-align:justify;"><br></div><span><div style="text-align:justify;">b)&nbsp;<b>The Siddiques</b>&nbsp;(The Truthful) – This rank is next after the Prophets. The greatest Siddique was Hazrat Abu Bakr (<i>RadiAllahu Anhu</i>). The meaning of Siddique is Truth. Such a person recognizes truth in all its manifestations.</div></span></p><p><div style="text-align:justify;"><br></div><span><div style="text-align:justify;">c)&nbsp;<b>The Shuhada</b>&nbsp;(Martyrs) – One need not actually be killed in the battlefield to prove one’s self as shaheed (martyr). One in this stage feels satisfied by sacrificing everything that he has for the Creator.</div></span></p><p><div style="text-align:justify;"><br></div><span><div style="text-align:justify;">d)&nbsp;<b>The Salih</b>&nbsp;(Pious) – This is the lower grade that one can attain by devotional activities. In this stage, one cleanses himself from all spiritual impurities such as jealousy, hatred,hypocrisy etc.</div></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;">From the Awliya of the ummah of Sayidina Rasoolallah (<i><span>Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam</span></i>), the most superior Awliya are the four Khulafa-e-Rashideen (The Righteously guided Caliphs), namely Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique&nbsp;<i>Radi Allahu Anhu</i>, Hazrat Umar Farooq&nbsp;<i><span>Radi Allahu Anhu</span></i>, Hazrat Uthmaan Ghani&nbsp;<i>Radi Allahu Anhu</i>, and Hazrat Ali Murtaza&nbsp;<i><span>RadiAllahu Anhu</span></i>, and then <b>all the other Sahaabas. All the Sahaabas were Awliyas, BUT all Awliyasare not Sahaabas.</b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span>&nbsp;</span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><span>Amongst the Awliyas are the following groups:</span></b><span></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><!--[if!supportlists]--><span>§<span>&nbsp;</span></span><!--[endif]--><b>At any given time, there are 4000 Awliyas living on Earth.</b> They are not recognized by the general public. In fact, amongst them, one does not know the other, and they themselves are not aware of the validity of their actions and devotion.</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><!--[if!supportlists]--><span>§<span>&nbsp;</span></span><!--[endif]--><b>300 from this group are statesman</b>, involved in the administration of this world. They control all transactions that takeplace. style="text-align:justify;"><!--[if!supportlists]--><span>§<span>&nbsp;</span></span><!--[endif]--><b>Amongst the 40, 7</b> are <b>“Abraar”</b>.</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><!--[if!supportlists]--><span>§<span>&nbsp;</span></span><!--[endif]--><b>Amongst this 7, 4 </b>are <b>“Autaad”.</b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><!--[if!supportlists]--><span><span>§<span>&nbsp;</span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span><b>Amongst these 4, 3 are “Noqabah”.</b></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><!--[if!supportlists]--><span>§<span>&nbsp;</span></span><!--[endif]--><b>From these 3, 1 is the “Ghaus” or “Qutub”. </b>He isthe most senior of them all, and head of the spiritual assembly.</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><br></p><p style="text-align:justify;">In reference to the Abdaals, Imam At-Tabarani&nbsp;<i>RadiAllahu Anhu</i>&nbsp;quotes a Hadith Shareef in which the Holy Prophet (<i><span>SalallahuAlaihi Wasallam</span></i>) declares,<b> “There will always exist 40 persons on the Earth, each of whom is blessed like Hazrat Ebrahim (Alaihis Salaam). It rains because of their barakah. Allah appoints another when one of them dies.”</b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><br></b></p><p style="text-align:justify;">In another Hadith Shareef, Abu Naeem&nbsp;<i>Radi Allahu Anhu</i>&nbsp;reports that the Holy Prophet (<i><span>Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam</span></i>) said,<b> “There always exist 40persons among my ummah. Their hearts are like that of Hazrat Ebrahim (AlaihisSalaam). Allah Ta’aala redeems His human servants from disasters for their sake. They are called Abdaal. They do not attain to that degree by performing salaah, fasting, or giving zakaah but purely by the choice of The almighty Allah SWT.”</b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span><br></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><span>Ibn Mas’ud</span><span>&nbsp;<i>Radi Allahu Anhu</i>&nbsp;</span><span>asked, “Ya Rasoolallah</span><span>&nbsp;<i>SalallahuAlaihi Wasallam</i></span><span>, by what means do they attain that degree?”</span></b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><span>“They attain it by being generous, and by advising muslims,” said the Prophet (</span><i><span>Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam</span></i><span>).</span></b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><span><br></span></b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span>Do remember that although all the Awliya Allah are equal as far as Wilayah is concerned, they differ as far as status is concerned.</span></p><p><div style="text-align:justify;"><br></div><b><div style="text-align:justify;"><b><u>THE KARAAMAT OF THE AWLIYA</u></b></div></b><span></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><u><span><br></span></u></b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span>A supernatural act, or miracle, performed by a Wali, is known as karaamat. One must understand that the performing of miracles, is not a necessary condition of sainthood. There are some people,when they read or hear about the Awliya, he/she immediately looks for miracles. They think that since they have not heard of any miracle, that person cannot be a Wali. This is totally incorrect.&nbsp;</span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span><br></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><span>To deny the karaamat of a Wali is a sign of ignorance and misguidance, as this is proven in the Holy Qur’an. The Holy Qur’an relates that karaamat of Hazrat Asif</span><span>&nbsp;<i>RadiAllahu Anhu</i></span><span>, who was a Wali from the ummah of Hazrat Sulaiman (Alaihis Salaam). Before a blinking of an eye, Hazrat Asif&nbsp;</span><i><span>Radi Allahu Anhu</span></i><span>&nbsp;</span><span>presented the throne of Bilqees,which was in a very distant place, before Hazrat Sulaiman (Alaihis Salaam).(Surah Naml , Verse 37-40)</span></b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span><br></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><span>Another narration is when Hazrat Zakariya(Alaihis Salaam) questioned Hazrat Bibi Maryam (</span><i><span>RadiAllahu Anhaa</span></i><span>), themother of Hazrat Isa (Alaihis Salaam), about the fruit which were out of season, that he saw in her place of worship. She said that they had come from Allah. (Surah 3, Verse 37).</span></b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span>&nbsp;</span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><span><i>The mothers of the prophets are Waliyas.</i></span></b><span></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><span><i><br></i></span></b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><span><i><br></i></span></b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><u><span>HOW TO RECOGNISE A WALI</span></u></b><span></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><u><span><br></span></u></b></p><p style="text-align:justify;">The method of recognizing a Wali and a non-Wali is to rectify one’s heart and mind, and to adopt his company. Thereafter if you find that his company generates the thought and love of Allah in your heart, then he is a Wali. On the contrary, if the heart indulges in worldly thought, then he is not a Wali, because it is said,<b> “The heart is a mirror of another heart”.</b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span><br></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><span>Imam Nawawi</span><span>&nbsp;<i>Radi Allahu Anhu</i></span><span>, and also Ibn Maja</span><span>&nbsp;<i>RadiAllahu Anhu</i>&nbsp;</span><span>report that when Rasoolallah (</span><i><span>Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam</span></i><span>) was asked about the characteristics of the Awliya, he declared, “Allah is remembered when they are seen.”</span></b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span><b>&nbsp;</b></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><u><span>ALLAH DECLARES WAR ON THE ENEMIES OF THE AWLIYA</span></u></b><span></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><u><span><br></span></u></b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span>In Bukhari Shareef, Hazrat Abu Huraira</span><span>&nbsp;<i>RadiAllahu Anhu</i>&nbsp;</span><span>reports the following Hadith-e-Quddsi:</span></p><p style="text-align:justify;">The Holy Prophet (<i><span>SalallahuAlaihi Wasallam</span></i>) has said that Allah said, <b>“Whoever shows enmity to a friend of mine, I shall be at war with him.”</b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><br></b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span><b>Who has the courage to be at war with Allah? Certainly, they will be destroyed! Therefore, it is important that the Awliya should be respected and honoured.Whoever disrespects, and insults the Awliya, will without a doubt, receiveAllah’s wrath.</b></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span><br></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><span>Hazrat Khwaja Gharib Nawaaz Mu’inuddin Chisti</span><span>&nbsp;<i>RadiAllahu Anhu</i>&nbsp;</span><span>narrated:</span></b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span><b><br></b></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span><b>“There was a man who hated the Awliya. When he died, and was placed in the grave, the people tried to turn his face toward the Qibla, but it would always turn away from that direction. The people were astonished at this action. There was a voice from nowhere announcing, ‘It would be a futile exercise to try to turn his face toward the Qibla, because he used to turn his face away at seeing the Awliya, and that he who would turn his face in disgust from My friends, I will turn My face on him. He is a condemned soul, and on the day of judgement, such people will appear with faces of donkeys.’”</b></span></p><p><div style="text-align:justify;"><br></div><b><div style="text-align:justify;"><b><u>IMPORTANCE OF LOVING THE AWLIYA</u></b></div><div style="text-align:justify;"><b><u><br></u></b></div></b><span></span></p><p><div style="text-align:justify;">Allah revealed to Musa (Alaihis Salaam), “What actions have you done for my pleasure?” He said, “O Allah, I have prayed to you, kept fast, and paid charity.” Allah said, “Prayer is a clear proof for&nbsp;<i>you</i>, fast is a shield for&nbsp;<i>you</i>, and charity is&nbsp;<i>your</i>&nbsp;shade. But what have you done for&nbsp;<i>me</i>?” Hazrat Musa (Alaihis Salaam) then asked, “O Allah, show me an action which is only for you.” Allah said, “O Musa, have you loved someone for My sake, and hated anyone for My sake?”</div><span><div style="text-align:justify;">-(Ihya al-uloom id-deen, Vol II)</div><div style="text-align:justify;"><br></div></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span>From this, we can say that although we have never seen many of the great Awliya,but we only love them, because they love Allah, and Allah loves them.Therefore, we love them for the sake of Allah, and we should distance ourselves from those who dislike the friends of Allah, as we will hate them for Allah’s sake.</span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span><br></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><span>Hazrat Baba Farid Ganje Shakar</span><span>&nbsp;<i>RadiAllahu Anhu</i></span><span>) hasnarrated:</span></b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span><b><br></b></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><span>“A sinful young man died in Multan. Someone asked him in a dream as to what was his condition. He replied that Allah had pardoned him. He explained that one day, when Khwaja Baha-ul-Haq Zakarriya Multani</span><span>&nbsp;<i>Radi Allahu Anhu</i>&nbsp;</span><span>was walking, he had kissed his hand with utmost respect. Because of this respect, he had been pardoned.”</span></b></p><p><div style="text-align:justify;"><br></div><b><div style="text-align:justify;"><b><u>THE AWLIYA ALLAH ARE ALIVE IN THEIR GRAVES</u></b></div><div style="text-align:justify;"><b><u><br></u></b></div></b><span></span></p><p><div style="text-align:justify;"><b>Allah says in the Holy Quran “Do not even think of those who are martyred in the way of Allah as dead, BUT THEY ARE ALIVE&nbsp;near their Lord and given provision. They are joyous of what Allah bestowed upon them of his favour and they give good news to those who have not as yet reached them.” (Surah Al-Imraan, Verse 170).</b></div><div style="text-align:justify;"><br></div><div style="text-align:justify;">As we have explained earlier that the Awliyas are those who have attained nearness to Allah. Attaining this nearness is not easy because there are certain obstacles. One of the greatest obstacles is bringing one’s carnal desires(<b>nafs-ul-ammarah</b>) under control. In this regard, the struggle with one’s carnal soul has been regarded as a<b> Jihad-e-Akbar (Great battle</b>),in contrast to <b>Jihad-e-Asghar (Smaller Battle, which is fought on the actualbattlefield)</b>. This concept is derived from the popular Hadith of the HolyProphet (<i>Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam</i>), in which he said to his companions returning from a battle:</div><div style="text-align:justify;"><br></div></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span><b>“Youhave returned from a smaller battle to a greater battle.”</b></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span><b><br></b></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;">He was then asked by the companions, <b>“What can be a greater battle than that we have just fought?”</b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span><br></span></p><p><div style="text-align:justify;">He,&nbsp;<i>Salallahu AlaihiWasallam</i>&nbsp;answered,<b>“The battle against one’s nafs.”</b></div><div style="text-align:justify;"><b><br></b></div><span><div style="text-align:justify;"><b>Imam Ghazzali (Radi Allahu Anhu) says in Ihya al Uloom Vol. IV:</b></div><div style="text-align:justify;"><b><br></b></div></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span>“Death cannot destroy the soul, which is the place of Allah’s Ma’rifat, because it is something spiritual. Death causes the change of the condition of soul, and relieves it from the prison of its bodily cage. It does not end as Allah says</span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span><br></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><span>“Do not even think of those who are martyred in the way of Allah as dead</span><span>, BUT THEY ARE ALIVE</span><span>&nbsp;</span><span>near their Lord and given provision. They are joyous of what Allah bestowed upon them of his favour and they give good news to those who have not as yet reached them.” (SurahAl-Imraan, Verse 170).”</span></b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span><br></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span>One should not think that this position is acquired only by those that are martyred on the battlefield, because “</span><b><span>every breath of an Arif (one who has recognized his creator) is a martyr.”</span></b><span></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><span><br></span></b></p><p><div style="text-align:justify;">From the above quotations we can deduce that if those that fight the smaller battle are alive, then surely, without any doubt, those that fight the greater battle are&nbsp;<b>ALIVE!!! AS WELL.</b></div><div style="text-align:justify;"><b><br></b></div><div style="text-align:justify;"><b>Imam Abu Naeem&nbsp;<i>Radi Allahu Anhu</i>, in his book“Hilyaat-ul-Awliya”, narrates from Hazrat Saeed&nbsp;<i>RadiAllahu Anhu</i>, that:</b></div><div style="text-align:justify;"><b><br></b></div></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><span>“By Allah, Hameed Taweel, and myself were burying Hazrat Thabit Nibhaani</span><span>&nbsp;<i>Radi Allahu Anhu</i></span><span>. As we were setting the final rocks, one rock accidentally fell into the grave. As I peeped into the grave,I saw Hazrat Thabit Nibhaani</span><span>&nbsp;<i>Radi Allahu Anhu</i>&nbsp;</span><span>was about to perform salaah,and he was imploring to Allah in the following manner:</span></b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span><b><br></b></span></p><p><div style="text-align:justify;"><b>‘O Allah! You have given certain of your creation the permission to perform their salaah within the grave. Give me also this same permission.’</b></div><div style="text-align:justify;"><b><br></b></div><span><b><div style="text-align:justify;">It was indeed beyond the mercy of Allah to refuse him.”</div><div style="text-align:justify;"><br></div></b></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><span>Hazrat Thabit Nibhaani</span><span>&nbsp;<i>RadiAllahu Anhu</i>&nbsp;</span><span>was aTaba’ee (Ones that saw the Sahaaba after the demise of the Holy Prophet (</span><i><span>SalallahuAlaihi Wasallam</span></i><span>).</span></b></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span><br></span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span>COMPILED BY: S.
